ACRYLIC PAINTS Liquitex or Golden brands. I don't recommend "student grade" paint. Cadmium yellow light, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium orange, burnt sienna, cadmium red medium, magenta, dioxazine purple, cobalt blue, brilliant blue, phthalo green, titanium white, Mars or carbon black 2. BRUSHES White nylon or natural bristle brushes: #4 flat or filbert, #8 flat or filbert, #2 round, #10 round Soft watercolor brushes: #4, #6, #8 Note: Having a variety of brushes is important. Students should try different shapes, sizes, and bristle types to find what works best for them. 4. PAPER One sketch pad, approx 14 x 17" Watercolor block (This is optional. Students may want to experiment with painting on paper rather than canvas, or use it for preliminary studies.) 5. CANVASES Stretched canvases are best, but canvas boards are acceptable. 3-4 canvases, size and shape optional. I recommend around 16 x 20" to 18 x 24". 6. MISCELLANEOUS "Stay Wet" palette with sponge and paper, 12 x 16". This is a very important item. If you have trouble finding these in stores, they can be ordered from Masterson Art Products.
